i absolutely LOVE urbandictionary's definition. and that is what my point is. i want it to be known fashion isn't what is on the runways, in the magazines, or just owning a gazillion hollister t-shirts(been there done that).
fashion is any type of style people wear. its what your eye gets drawn towards when shopping. and as you continually are drawn to those type of things, it starts to become your "style" your FASHION.
ah i just love talking about this. i love originality. i love diversity. i love seeing someone wearing something and you second guess it, because really that's what fashion is! a double-take. now that double take could be because it's nothing you've ever seen before, or it just be because the person is rocking it and looks fabulous.
i especially love talking about what fashion is because i grew up not really knowing the true meaning.
age 2-10; you don't wear gap, what the heck do you wear?
you see, my mom worked at gap my whole childhood so i knew nothing else. if the tag didn't say gap kids i just did NOT understand.
age 11-14; you don't wear all hollister and abercrombie? where the freak do you shop?
i honestly just blame this on the age. for some reason hollister and abercrombie just take over your life once you hit like 11 or 12. you walk in, see something on a manikin, and go find it. omgsh just looking back on it makes me sick to my stomach. all the money my mom wasted on t-shirts with the words HOLLISTER or ABERCROMBIE & FITCH.. i could have fed a middle-sized country. heaven forgive me.
age 15-17; praise the lord kinda.
thank gosh for forever 21 and h&m. going into these stores i realized the unique and different things were what i really loved. and i had this passion for these types of clothes. to grab different things and put them together, and it be totally you, was refreshing beyond belief!
not gonna lie though, i did go crazy over jeans for quite a chunk of this age. i wouldn't wear jeans UNLESS they had a true religion pocket. i mean kinda bleh.. but at least i wasn't obsessed with the straight up blinged out & HUGE stitching styles(again another middle-sized country, people). my poor mother. i mostly thank my trip to San Francisco at age 15 for my mind opening revelation. i believe that was my first time really seeing street style. everyone was wearing such different things, and everybody together walking down the streets was one of the most beautiful things i'd ever seen. i slightly remember going ape shiz in that huge h&m in San Fran.

purely present; purely love.
now i can shop anywhere, as long as i can find things i love. not even gonna lie, ill go spend $5 dollars on jeggings at walmart(don't even worry i already bought two pair) or ill go spend a random 100+ on one thing at nordstrom if its a definite must have. the stores i for sure could not live without though would go like this: h&m, nordstrom, forever 21 and urban outfitters. of course i love tons of stores but these are my forever favorites. at least for now.
fashion has really, literally, become a passion for me now. i find such joy in putting outfits together and making people look amazing. i love creating something that fits some one's personality soo well. or just makes their body look bangin. i know for sure this is a passion that isn't going to fade. its just gonna keep burning brighter. watch out people, don't burn yourself.
xoxo
