Day 19!

My Days aren't off if you were wondering. I count today, and Christmas day. So there. Haha I got a little confused the other day and whipped out my handy dandy calender, and yep!
ANYWAYSSSSSS, today I'm going to blog about..
the MILITARY slash COMBAT LACE-UP BOOT
Sounds.. manish right? Or ugly? Or just weird? NOPE. I'm currently in LOVE with the military boot look. I'll take them shorter or taller, don't matta to me! At first glance you start to think.. what will I ever wear with those? The thing is.. anything! I know I say that a lot, but I mean it when I say it. The beauty of trends and fashion right now is, you can pretty much mix and match anything, and it's totally fab. I mean, you gotta know where to draw the lines, (get it? I drew a line through it hehe) but pretty much it's just one big wear whatever you want and rock it fad right now!
Back to the boots.
So I love the shorter lace-up boot because they look ADORABLE with a precious dainty little sock. Once again, sounds so weird. NOPE, it's not. Shorter socks are in right now. I think it's hilarious because when I was younger I had a pair of these kind of socks for every outfit. Member the socks with the little ruffles that you folded over at the top? Yep, wore those to church every Sunday. It's just great. You know what kind of socks I'm talking about now, don't you? Yeah, those kind. Ruffles or no ruffles. Please and thanks.

If you are wanting the taller boots, once again, love them. These can be worn with higher socks/tights whatev. If you wanna wear sockies, tuck your pants into the socks before puttin on yo boots. I mostly would go for the mid-height ones, because they are a lot more versatile than the super tall ones. My favorite thing to do with the mid-height is
1. Lace them up most of the way. 2. Take the laces wrap them completely around the boot, then back around to the front. 3. Then tie. 4. Cutest thing ever. It makes them look more casual, and just chillish.

Don't feel weird wearing these, everybody loves them.. they just might not know it yet.
If you get some that have a softer, flimsier leather, fold them over at top. However much you want. Super cute.
They also make tons of cute ones with like sockish material sewed in, or fur- love them, especially for the folding over.
The one thing I have noticed about mine is there are not very comfortable at first. The first day I wore mine my feet killed after. It's because the soles are so structured and they're a shape my foot isn't used to.. I fink. They break in pretty fast, so don't stop wearing them if yo feet hurt afta tha first time! Ya'll get whaa I'm spittin at chu?

They come in all shapes and sizes, different colors, some with a little heel, some with major heels, go for what fits your style best. The ones you think you'll wear most.
This look is totally just about rockin them your way, whatever that way is.

I'm glad we could have this talk.
Till tomorrow loves!

P.s. Thanks to all you who read this, it really does mean a lot. Muah!

Whoopsies.. Days 21 & 20

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I did a research paper all day. BOO! Please forgive me my friends. Tell me you still love me!

DAY 20
SEBASTIAN SHAPER PLUS HAIRSPRAY
My ALL TIME favorite hairspray in the world. I'm a hairspray addict. Like I think I get high off of it cause I use so freakin much. Happens when you gotta fro ya know. Gotta tame that shiz! Anyways try it out.

DAY 21
MATTE LIPSTICK
I"m so into the no shine, just pale, lighter colors right now. I love the nude/pale pink color! Matte lipstick gives such a pretty color! It's just so naturalish, not really dramatic.
Revlon has a whole line of matte lipsticks that I love. My favorite is Pink Pout. It's the perfect pink color, not too Nicki Minaj, but still different. Ya feel me?! The Revlon lipsticks are pretty, and go on well, but after a little while they do get kinda chalky or cakey. MAC has a line of matte lipsticks that are awesome too. If you just wanna try out the matte look, get the Revlon one first- it's only like 6$. If you love it, go for the MAC.
Ahhh pure love. Don't be afraid to wear lipstick. It sounds kinda grandmaish sometimes, but really they just are such a different color than any lip gloss can give you.

                 pwetty pwetty. love this one^

P.s. You can always put a little lip gloss on top of the lipstick if you want a little shine!

Day 22

LIQUID EYELINER
Don't you just hate it when a few hours after putting on your make-up you look in the mirror and your eyeliner is all saggy. Haha, k weird word, but you get what I'm sayin right? Like it falls down, gets smeary blah blah. Well now you don't have to worry about that happening ever again! I think people get scared when the hear the word "liquid" before eyeliner. The reality is, don't get scurred! Surriously!

Tips to applying LIQUID eyeliner hollerable.
1. Get really close to a mirror
2. I like to rest my elbow on the counter, so I can make-sure I get a really straight line.
3. Just go right along the lash line, as close as possible.
4. After applied across the whole lid, make it thicker if you're feelin it.
5. Please bless you do a little cat eye action! I mean you're putting on liquid eyeliner anyways, might as well make it way fetchin! This is also really easy, if you want a little cat eye, aka, wing- at the end of your straight line along the lid, make a quick curved, upward motion. Even just a little wing opens up the eye and makes your lashes look thicker. It doesn't have to be massive, just pretty and really girly.

Obviously if you want a really good liquid eyeliner, the more the pay the better it will be. I have found one that is super cheap that I love though! You can find it at Wal-Mart or Target, it's called Glam Eyes and its the Rimmel London brand. It's at the most, like 5$. I like it because it's not too thick, and isn't a pain to get off at night. They also have it in some crazy colors, but of course, I prefer the black.

Also, if you are still sketched out try the felt tip eyeliners. They are just like a marker, and super easy to draw a straight line with! I've found the cheaper ones dry out really fast, so if you want one of these definitely go for quality!

Try it out! You won't regret it!!
till tomorrow,

Day 23

ballerina buns

Don't tell me it's not the cutest thing ever when someone can rock a ballerina bun on top of their head. I am  obsessed, and jealous of anyone who looks half decent while rocking it! It's so chic, yet casual at the same time. I'm not gonna lie, I love to wear ballerina buns, regardless of how I look. You should do it too! You'll get compliments you've probably never got before. This guy told me I had a great jaw-line while I was rockin thaaa bun. Never got that one, but hey I'll take it- Ya dig?! So go for it, and tell me how it goes!
Some tips for a marvelous bun:
1. Go upside down, as if you were gonna do a pony on top of your head, literally like the very top of your head, or ever a little closer to the front.
2. Come back up, holding your hair in place, really tight.
(If you're worried it won't stay in then put it in a pony first) Start to twist hair around, but make it as loose as possible, so its not like slicked back hard core bun status. After wrapping it around, wrap elastic around base of bun.
3. If it's still too perfect pull some pieces out, or just kinda loosen it so it looks thicker.
4. HOLLER! Throw on some red lips, or some bright blush. You'll look flawless.

P.s. If you feel adventurous go for the braided ballerina bun. LOVE it!

DRESS THEM UP, DRESS THEM DOWN! There are so many different types! Button-up, Around the waist tie, Open front, Short-sleve, Over the head, mmmm so many choices! A few ways to rock these puppies areeeee--
A. Just skinny's and leather boots.

B. Over a girly dress. Love mixing patterns too! Go for a floral dress with a striped cardigan! Don't be scuuured!
C. A longer, baggy shirt with leggings and a skinny belt over the cardigan!
D. I love the short-sleve layered with a long sleeve underneath.

ANYWAYS, you get it right?! Don't be afraid, embrace the over-sized cardigan- and go get one for the holiday season! There are cute ones everywhere. Once again, here's some that stole my precious little heart.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

It's been a while.. that makes me kinda sad.
Anyways, exciting news! I've been asked to help write the style section for the UVU Review, UVU's Newspaper. It's definitely not vogue, or elle, or anything in between, but its a start of where I can hopefully be some day. I don't remember if I've said this before on here, but my major is communications, I'll most likely end up going into journalism, maybe broadcasting. How sick would fashion journalism be?! It's like my DREAM job. Going back stage at fashion shows, meeting designers- ahhh! When I tell people my major they always comment on how its the "slacker" major, which then makes me want to slap them because I'm not even TRYING to be a slacker. It's really what I want to do. BOOOOO HATERS. Haha, I DEF have a ton of work ahead of me, its only semester... one. Oh gosh.

Ombre Hair Color "MELT"
What is a hair melt you ask? Well, it pretty much just looks like you have major regrowth. I think the ombre melt looks mostly like natural summer highlights, just grown out. It's a really natural look.Yeah a year ago I would have thought it was the most disgusting thing ever, but I LOVE it. Isn't that usually how it works anyway? So a melt can be done a number of ways, it can be REALLY drastic dark to light, or more blended down dark, med, lighter, light. I'm so blessed my bestie Chan is in hair school she she is so up to date on all the holler-able techniques. A few weeks ago we whipped out the bleach and went crazy on our hair. (I do not suggest this, go to a salon, where they know what they are doing for sure haha OBVIOUSLY). But.. it didn't end that bad. At least mine didn't! Haha, I do not kid you my friends i have BLONDE ends. And I love it. I Am so tempted to go to like a sandy, golden blonde. Total Blake Liveley Status.. maybe later. My melt is pretty drastic. On dark hair its a little harder to blend down, and I wanted it this way, I think it just looks cooler. I'll post some pics of color melts. If you are BORED of your hair, but don't want to change colors completely... DO A MELT! You'll love it, its different, but not TOO different.

I do love me some 90210! But if you've been watching it this season, Annie(Shanae Grimes) hair is a TOTAL ombre melt right now.

Whitney Port is always ahead on trends. She had the ombre melt back when we were wondering why she wouldn't just touch up her roots! Now its the natural-ist prettiest look ever. She is gorgeous.

Um hi.. I'M OBSESSED with Jessica Biels melt. Could she not be so gorgeous? Out of all of these pictures my melt looks most like Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's. Mine looks similar to hers, but her's is SO much prettier.
YAY FOR TRENDING!
Till next time you fashionistas,
XOXO
